SHIRLEY HAUSER
Born May 4, 1904 in Chicago, Illinois, and died January 16, 1981 in Van Nuys, California. She married MORRIS ROTBERG in 1923 (at the age of 17, as per the 1930 US Census), son of JOSEPH ROTBERG and BRINA GARBER. He was born February 15, 1895 in Helm, Russia, and died July 25, 1956 in Los Angeles. She then married VICTOR ISRIN on September 30, 1961, son of
JAKOV ISRIN and DASCHA MARKMAN. He was born January 31, 1908 in Tallin, Russia, and died March 4, 1983 in Van Nuys, California.The Social Security Death Index has Shirley's date of birth as May 17, 1903, though the family believes it to be May 4, 1905; however, in a tape-recorded interview I did in 1979, Shirley stated she was 56 years old when her husband Morris died in 1956, putting her birth year at 1900! Her son-in-law (Herbert Gold) has her birthdate down as May 4, 1918 (which would be impossible, as her son was born 5 years later!). The California Death Index at Ancestry.com says that Shirley was born May 4, 1904.
